It's that time of year again...

New year's resolutions!






The above resolutions are just to name a few, but as you know, there are so many resolutions once the new year rolls around. Why start on January 1st? Well, research shows, the start of a new year, new calendar, new planner encourages people to begin a fresh start. Although this can also prove to be the toughest time to make big life changes, a lot of us are doing it! 

We've got some of our own personal resolutions over here that we want to share and keep you updated on during the month of January. Today, we'll list out each resolution, the plan to get started, and follow-up with progress in the coming weeks. 

  1. Eat breakfast
    This may seem simple, but eating breakfast is often a tough task. There's a lot of science behind eating breakfast within an hour of waking up to boost your metabolism, so it's one resolution we're chasing down this month.
    Plan: Stock up! Make sure to have oatmeal, yogurt and granola, eggs and maybe some ingredients for smoothies on hand so it's easily accessible in the morning.
  2. Get outside
    It's easy to get consumed in your job, and when you're not working just want to go home and relax, that sometimes we forget to just get outside. It doesn't matter where you live, there's probably nearby hiking or walking trails that you've never explored, so we're going to hunt them down.
    Plan: We've each started our own list of places we've never been right in our own cities. We started on Trip Advisor and fell down many Google holes to compile some lengthy lists, now we just need to start checking them off.
  3. Listen to one new podcast a week
    Podcasts, man. They're booming right now and we're certainly not in short supply. We're constantly talking about new podcasts during our weekly calls that we wanted to add this resolution to the list. We don't need to finish the podcast series, just give a new one a chance each week and see what clicks.
    Plan: Start an excel sheet of podcasts to tune into and highlight the one's we connect with.
  4. Limit screentime in the bedroom
    Does anyone else pass out scrolling through instagram? Or switch your alarm off in the morning just to check your e-mail real quick? We certainly do, and there's no way there's anything beneficial about it. 
    Plan: This one is tough to cut cold turkey, but we're attempting to make a conscious effort each night to pick up a book, possibly meditate, or maybe turn on a podcast!
