Resolutions- Week 2
It's the second week of January and as we discussed last week, we want to keep you updated this month on how our resolutions are going.
On the one hand, maybe it's easy to start a new habit because there are probably other friends, family or people that you live with trying to do the same thing. Or, maybe it's hard if you don't have the right people supporting you and you repeatedly hear people mocking your #newyearnewyou theme. Either way, if you wanted to stick with your resolutions, we hope you have! 8 days in for us, and we're doing alright!
This has actually proven a little easier than we thought. Our plan was to stock up on breakfast items, and that worked pretty well! If there's stuff in the fridge or the pantry, and we've deemed it "breakfast food", then we wake up and we eat it! Unfortunately, we don't all love eggs, but we've dug into some great recipes.
This has probably been the most fun! Our team is fully distributed, so none of us are in the same city, which made our lists very different. In one week we haven't knocked too many items off the list, but collectively we've knocked off five items. I think this will continue to be an easy resolution, so here's to continued exploration!
Listen to one new podcast a week
Like we mentioned, there certainly isn't a shortage. We all have a commute of some sort, and actually listening to one while getting ready for the day has proven to be a good way to wake up! We tried three different podcasts this week:
The Full Ratchet; A Podcast dedicated to demystifying Venture Capital
Startup; a podcast about what it’s really like to get a business off the ground
Product People; A podcast focused on great products and the people who make them
Limit screentime in the bedroom
This one is not going so well. Turns out, it's really hard to put your phone down before getting into bed. Also turns out, people sometimes crawl into bed early just so they can catch up on social media uninterrupted. I think the only progress made this week, is less screentime in bed in the morning, now focused on a more "get up and get going" regiment. So, we'll keep trying at this one (for now).
